We visited the Mallekeswarar temple . It is very big and ancient temple. Located in Thambu chetty street. One of the busy streets in Chennai. When we enter the temple no one was there. No peoples only archakar was there. The devi Maragathambal was very nice the urchavar was wearing two sarees. with contrast green and red colour. Very nice. In a prabhakara we had darshan of Dhakshinamurthy, mahadeva, kailasanathar,kasi viswanathar,Bhairavar & 63 Nayanmars. Only in old shiva temples we can see few more shivas in prabharas. There is separate sannithi for saraswathi also.
Here surya is having 7 horses. All other grahas are in circular position. Generally we see 9 navagrahas in 3 rows. It is nice to watch it. Suriayan, chandiran, and sani murthy’s also in main sannithi.
In the big prahara we can find one big temple tank & small nandhavanam. In the entrance to the temple all swami vahanas are getting a painting. It is treat to our eyes.
We moved to kalikambal temple. Here good crowd was there . opposite to this temple a ganesha temple is there. It is chatuthi day. The temple is full of bhatas. We also had a good darshan. Then went inside kalikambal temple.
Kalaikambal & kamateswarar are the main sannithis. But the crowd was there in the prabharam were urchava kalikambal is located. Lot of persons are doing archanai here.
Kamateswarar is like a kasi viswanathar a small linga roopa shiva.in kalikambal sannithi all persons has to sit there to watch the aarthi. It is very rare to see this. I liked this. So that all persons can see the beautiful arthi of ambal. In the main sannithi left side arunachaleswarar is there. Othere side murugan with valli devasena murthy’s are there. Virat viswa parabrhma munni murthy is there.
In outer prahara we can see a Ganesha, Gayathri devi,Durga devi. Ganesh with his wives siddi & buddi. It is very rare to see ganesh in this style. Gayathri devi sannithi was also very rare in Tamilnadu.
Adisankarar placed meru here to make kali ukkragha murthy to shantha murthy
Chatrapathi Shivaji visited on 3rd October 1677. it is engraved here. Mahakavi Bharathiyar visited this temple
