We went pon vilaintha kalathur. Here 3 temple are there.
1. Lakshimi narayana swamy temple.
2. Pattabhisheha ramar & Sethu ramar.
3. Mukkudumi eswarar.
Enroute to ponvilaithakalathur we visited Chettipuniyam.
This very famous for yoga hayagreevar. Students come here with pens, notebooks placed before hayagreevar to get his blessings to do well in their exams.
Moolavar is varadaraja perumal.urchavar is yoga hayagreevar. He is very small and wearing muttangi it is very beautiful. Bhattar is very patient enough to take pens and notebooks from bhaktas and returning it back to them after placing them in Hayagreevars feet.To write the exam roll number instead of wall there is a board here. I really liked this idea.
Another interesting attraction is in the prabharam there is a tree, people will tie a knot to get the blessings for marriage.
We first went to pattabhisheha ramar. Here Sita was sitting on ramas lap like Bhatrachala ramar. There is a big srinivasan here. you cannot move your eyes from him. He is very beautiful. In the same component we can see the sethuramar sannithi. The rama is in sleeping posture like Thirupullani. This rama also called Tharbhasayana perumal. This Rama they got from nearby village well approximately 600 years ago.
Most of the temples we cannot see the full moolavar ,he was in sayana thirukolam. Here the entrance is big. so you can see the full moolavar. In Ramayana seetha’s eyes are growing big to capture full rama. Here our eyes also grow big to capture the full rama.
Next we went to lakshmi narayana temple. It was a night aarthi time. The bhattar is doing the rituals. The drums man, bell man & poora man are doing their duty. It is very happy to watch still some persons are playing their instruments at the time of pooja in a traditional way. In most of the places we can see the motor operated drums & bells.
We enquired about Mukkudumi easwar temple & chaturpuja ramar. There are no regular bhaktas to the temple. So the temples are closed most of the time.. We have to inform then visit these temples. The lakshmi narashima temple bhattar is doing the pooja in chatrupuja rama. We have to visit chaturpuja rama at 5PM come here with bhattar.
We went in a cab per Km Rs8/- total cost 1800/- for 6 hrs.

Koviladi Temple visit on 01-01-2012
01-01-201, Sunday
Everyone is trying to follow their new year resolutions. I plan to visit the temples nearby Trichy. First we ( Vichu atimber, Visalam akka, murali, Saradha, Prakrithi, Prithivi, Srinath and myself) went to Koviladi. One of the Divyadesam. This perumal is known as “appakudathan”. There was a power cut when we were inside. The invertor also drained. We are waiting in the queue. Slowly moved near perumal, The bhattar was so patient enough to explain the details of perumal in amidst crowd. He was fully sweating. We are thinking what a tough job it is? we are working in the AC rooms. Here bhattar was working without any help from the visitors. Not listening to his words calmly. It is one of the panchal ranga shetrams. This is the middle one, other four are Mysore Srirangapatnam Aathi Rangam, Srirangam Kasturi Rangam, Kumabakonam Saarangapani and Thiru Indhalur Parimala Rangam. Appakudathan is very merciful he has splashing his love to everyone came to see him. At the time of aarthi the power came. We can see the perumal in full light. God was wearing the muthangi on that day, it was treat to our eyes. We were delighted. Had a good darshan.
Story
King Uparisiravasu, while on a hunting expedition, accidentally killed a Brahmin, mistaking him for an animal. Cursed by Sage Durvasa, the king lost all his powers. To get himself liberated from the curse, he was asked to feed one lakh Brahmins. Lord Narayana, disguised as an old hungry Brahmin, visited the king here at Thirupernagar. The king took special care of his guest, but to his dismay, the old Brahmin consumed all the food that had been prepared that day.
Not satisfied with what he had just consumed, the disguised Lord asked the king to feed him a pot (kudam) of ‘Appam' (a sweet). The moment he consumed the pot of ‘Appam,' the King was liberated from his curse and regained his lost powers.
Being the one who consumed a pot of this sweet delicacy, the Lord here is called ‘Appa Kudathan.' To this day, one finds the ‘pot' to the right of the Sleeping Lord inside the sanctum. This is the only Divyadesam where Appam is offered daily to the Lord.

We went next to Varagur. This place is famous for uriyadi. Narayana theerathar stayed here and written THARANGAM. A very small temple between two houses, neat and tidy. Kalayana utsavam was performed by a devotee. So the urchavar was outside. It is like welcoming a child by amma waiting at a door. Wearing dresses and garland was very apt fit to the god. In the prabharam narayana theerthar drawing was very good.
Went inside had a darshan of varaha perumal. We don’t have time to see the siva temple so we hurried back to home.
