kasi yatra - Part 1

We have planned for kasi yatra. It has 5 parts

• 3.   Kasi  (Bindu Madava poojai)
• 4.   Gaya (Atshayavadam)
• 5.  Rameshwaram (Ganga Abhishekam)

We have booked the ticket in Rameshwaram train Enjoyed the Full moon in the train. Beauty of pamban bridge and reached Rameswaram. Went to  Maheswari baktha nivas by 2 autos. Lodge is next to seenu vadyar home. He only arranged for the stay. The lodge is very good. We had a big room(H3) to accommodate 20 persons with 6 beds. It is in first floor. The beach view from the window was very beautiful. fish smell also blended in air.

Saturday 12-07-2014

We had bath in the lodge itself and went to Seenu vadyar home at 6 AM.
We did the pillayar poojai & Samudra snana sankalpam. Taken the pooja vetrilai, pakku,fruits & flowers. vanchi and bhavani fell in floor due to giddiness. It taken few minutes to bring back them normal.

Then went to Dhanushkoti by Van. To rest the hunger fight, we ate apples, While cutting the apple siva finger got cut immediately turmeric was applied and wet cloth was rolled and knot tied. The road was good upto 10 km then the driver moved the van in left side. It was sea sand the driver only knows the route. We don’t know where we are we can see only beach in all side. Vanchi friend Balaji was also came with us. He was very interested in taking the pictures of horses, dogs and pigs in the route.

After 8 – 10 Km ride the van stopped in the beautiful place. Where the peoples are taking bath and few shops.

We thrown the vetrilai, pakku,fruits & flowers. 35 times done snanam with hand joined with wife. Then taken the wet sand 3 ball size in one plastic bag.

In the return route we saw an old railway line & church.

Went to seenu vadyar home. Taken out the sand from dhanshkoti shaped as linga and done the sethu madhava aavaganam,  Poojai  and Sankalpam to complete it by 6 months. Then did the 5 brahmana pitru shardham, dharpanam.  Taken the sethu madhava linga in the bag carefully. We had food around 4 pm.

Had good sleep in the room, went to Rameshwaram temple. Recited lalitha sahasranamam at Parvathavarthini sannithi.

 Then went to doctor and dressing done in siva finger with 4 stitches. Seenu vadyar arranged idly for our night dinner in his home. We filled the stomach with idly with the serial was running on the SUN TV.  Few went for night round and had milk & lassi. They exclaimed taste was very good.  

Sunday 13-07-2014

We planned to have darshan of spatiga linga dharshan 5 AM. Woke up early morning 4 AM and went to join the queue. The crowd was very heavy. We purchased 50/- per head ticked and joined the crowd. The queue was moving at snail pace.  spatika linga is a small transparent linga. It is placed before the big black shiva linga. Every two or three minutes the milk abishekam was performed to this spatika linga. The spatika linga is installed & worshipped by adisankara. One of the famous 12 jothirlingams. The linga is visible only during the abishekam. After that difficult to identify. It resembles god is playing the hide and seek with us. Had good darshan.  

Went to temple back side to beach for samdudra snanam. Had coffee. Waited in sankara mutt for seenu vadyar. He arranged another person to perform the well bath in the rameshwaram temple. He told as return quickly from (agni theertam) samudra snanam.

The sea backside rameshwaram temple is called agni theertam. Sea is very quite here. It is obeying the order of rama from that yuga. The sea is very rocky and wet clothes crawl your legs. So move slowly and take bath. We had 12 snanam in agni theertam and joined the queue in rameshwaram temple as directed by seenu vadyar. The person also joins with us with rope and bucket. We had samosa’s in the queue sold by the cycle wala 3 or 4 times. It is hot and tasty.

Another 2 families also joined with our group. We had 22 wells snanam directed by the person. He moved like a flash to next well waiting for us above the well filled with water in bucket. Kids are enjoyed the splash of water thrown on them by young sastrikal. Gayathri started crying in the beginning when water was poured on her. It was very cold. Later she also enjoyed the bath. Demanding more water her from young sastrikal. He was very kind and helpful.

Went to room changed the dresses. Had good tiffin near by hotel. Outside hotel plenty of autos are available. We hired two autos to show few temples. Went to Ramar padam

Approximate 20 steps to climb to darshan ramar padam temple. The morning breeze was very good we enjoyed it stayed for few more minutes. Came down and saw the OLD PILLAR from the old temple. This temple was build on top of old temple

Went to LAKSHMANA DEERTHAM. There is big pond with water with fish. Kids enjoyed the throwing the pori (puffed rice) in the pond. Had a good darshan.

Opposite to lakshmana deertham there is tank it is called SITA deertham. No water in that. We went to panjamuki anjaneya temple. A priest was giving the kalkantu and deertham. Then in another place the floating stone was displayed. We enjoyed try to pushing it down. 

Next went to Srinathji mandir. Spend some time in temple tank. Then came back to room. Had good dinner and taken packed food from seenu vadyar. Had a small nap in the lodge and return to railway station by auto. taken chennai train. reached safe chennai next day morning.
